Wallpaper removal is one of the most dreaded chores in the industry, however, we like it. It’s our wall therapy. We remove wallpaper by the man hour. According to Wikipedia, a man-hour, or less commonly person-hour, is the amount of work performed by the average worker in one hour. It is used in written “estimates” for estimation of the total amount of uninterrupted labour required to perform a task. There are two of us. We own the company so you won’t be getting subs or employees. We are the employees, the only employees. You just never know exactly what lies beneath that layer of wallpaper you are looking at. Sometimes as much as eight to ten layers. We have developed a formula to assess what an area to be removed would take. We then give an estimate of the lowest amount of time to what we think the longest amount of time would be needed to do that removal. That’s based on access, type of wallcovering on the top layer, size of the area, and also some ‘what if’s’. When we do the work, we only charge for the time we are actually working at the jobsite. When we get back to the shop and have mountains of dropcloths and equipment to clean up from the job, that’s on us. With that said, we can explain more details of how we will remove your wallcovering when we see you.
